A friend of mine had been recommending Dr. Brown for over a year to me but being lazy and comfortable with my dentist of 10 years, I ignored his advice for a bit.But then my dentist announced he was retiring, and around that time he also said that one of my porcelain onlays, which he had done within the past 3 years, had broken and would have to be replaced.I figured it was as good a time as any to try a new dentist, so I called Dr. Brown. The initial visit was *extremely* thorough. She went through a comprehensive evaluation of total health, not just oral health. She also went through my x-rays with me, and pointed out why my relatively new onlay probably broke (combination of me grinding my teeth in a certain pattern, and slightly sloppy work by my old dentist). She then identified a few other things that needed fixing, assigned levels of urgency to them, and let me make decisions about when to get work done, according to urgency, my budget and my tolerance for dental visits. She was as meticulous, thorough, educated, genuine, and caring as any professional I'd ever encountered in any field. She was an absolute perfectionist in her work, explained everything clearly and patiently, and followed up the next day with a phone call to ensure everything was ok. Unless I move out of the country, i'm pretty confident i'll be going to dr. brown for the rest of my life, which given that she is a few years younger than me, should work out OK for me.A few things to note:- She is somewhat on the pricier end. You do get what you pay for, though: Dr. Brown herself does a lot of the tasks that a lot of other dentists assign hygienists to do. She also uses the best labs. That costs more. In any case, it probably saves money in the long run - if only she'd done my original onlays, I probably wouldn't have to get them re-done. And by vigilantly maintaining my tooth & gum health now, that will save me surgeries later. Given the growing body of evidence that shows how linked oral health is to overall health, I will happily pay for the best care.- If your idea of a nice dental office is one that has TV on the ceiling, keep looking. You'll get the finest quality of care here, and that's the focus. - She accepts insurance, though isn't in-network on any plan, i think. Also, you have to pay up front, and then they'll bill insurance and your insurance will reimburse you.In sum: For people who are looking for the absolute best in dental care, I could not possibly recommend anyone more highly.
